Open Access

Accessing mental health services can often feel overwhelming, especially when facing the uncertainties of mental health challenges.

Our Mental Health Open Access program is designed to simplify this process, offering a walk-in model of care that ensures you, and those you care about, can meet with a mental health professional on the same day for an assessment.

This immediate access model aims to ease the journey towards mental health support, acknowledging the courage it takes to seek help and ensuring individuals feel heard, understood, and hopeful about their path to wellness.

Our Approach

Our therapists, skilled in Person Center Treatment and Motivational Interviewing, prioritizing empathy, active listening, and the belief that clients are experts on their own lives.

This approach fosters a supportive environment where you can openly share your experiences and work toward managing symptoms without the pressure of being “fixed.”

Our Services

The Open Access program stands as the primary point of access to Adapt’s mental health services, embodying our commitment to responsive and compassionate care.

Our services encompass:

  • Comprehensive Mental Health Assessment: A thorough diagnostic interview and testing process to understand your symptoms and determine the presence of a mental health disorder. Tailored recommendations for treatment or resources are provided, addressing the unique needs of each client.
  • Connection to Applicable Services: We will advise you of or provide connection to mental health treatments tailored to individual needs, including individual and group therapy, case management, skills training, peer support, and referrals to psychiatric medication management, as appropriate.

Preparing for Your Assessment

As you prepare for a mental health assessment with our Open Access program, we encourage you to reflect on several key aspects of your life and well-being. This preparation can help ensure a comprehensive understanding of your needs and how best to address them.

Consider the following:

  • Personal Symptoms and Struggles: Identify any specific symptoms or struggles you’ve been experiencing. Understanding these can help tailor the assessment to your needs.
  • Mental, Medical, Social, and Family History: Sharing your history in these areas provides a fuller picture of your background and any contributing factors to your current mental health.
  • Substance Use or Addiction History: Being open about any history of substance use or addiction is crucial, as it can significantly influence treatment recommendations.
  • Personal Strengths and Coping Mechanisms: Recognizing your strengths and how you’ve been managing can be empowering and guide the focus of your treatment.

The assessment process, lasting anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, is designed to deeply understand your perspective, validate your experiences, and work together to find solutions. It’s an opportunity to be heard and to start laying the groundwork for your path to wellness. Our team is here to listen, support, and collaborate with you every step of the way, ensuring that you feel supported in your journey toward healing and well-being.
